What is Garbha, the theme of Sonali Park’s Durga Puja 2026?
Garbha means the womb. It stands for creation, potential and sanctuary. Sonali Park’s 2026 pandal applies the idea to the humble clay vessel, which looks ordinary but holds grain, water and sustenance, and so holds life itself.
The theme links directly to Goddess Durga. Through her motherhood, she sustains courage, compassion and the will to fight injustice. The pandal presents the earthen pot as a symbol of that capacity to hold and to create.
The story of Kalketu and Phullara

Sonali Park’s 43rd year of Durga Puja
The Puja is organised by Sonali Park Sports and Cultural Society, with Subrata Kumar Dey as President and Mukul Bhattacharyya as Secretary. Forty-three years of continuous celebration make this a long-standing neighbourhood tradition in Naktala. It is now turning to a story rooted in Bengal’s soil.
