Behala Notun Dal Durga Puja 2026: “Ay Aaro Bendhe Bendhe Thaki” Celebrates the Bonds That Keep Us Together
Every Durga Puja has a story. Some are loud, some are grand, and some quietly touch the heart. Behala Notun Dal has chosen the latter for Sharodotsav 2026 with its heartfelt theme, “Ay Aaro Bendhe Bendhe Thaki” (Come, Let Us Stay Bound Together).
At a time when life often pulls people in different directions, the club’s message is beautifully simple. Stay connected. Stay close. Hold on to relationships that make life meaningful. This year’s Puja is not just about celebrating the Goddess but also about celebrating the invisible threads that bind families, friendships, and communities together.
A Theme Rooted in Emotion
The concept has been created by Somnath Tamli, who transforms an everyday Bengali expression into a powerful festival theme. Ay Aaro Bendhe Bendhe Thaki reflects the warmth of home, shared memories, and the comfort of belonging.
The thought behind the theme is perfectly captured in its message:
“Matir gondhe, shilpir chhoyay, aar abeger ronge… Ay Aaro Bendhe Bendhe Thaki. Ebarer Sharodotsobe eksathe bandha poruk shomporko, smriti aar bhalobasha.”
It reminds visitors that the fragrance of clay, the touch of an artist, and the colours of emotion can bring people together, creating memories that last long after the festival ends.
The Creative Vision
The idol has been designed by Arighna Saha, whose artistic interpretation places human connection at the heart of the divine form. Early visuals suggest an elegant and thoughtful presentation where the making of the Goddess itself becomes a metaphor for unity and togetherness.
The ambience, designed by Arpan Thakur Chakraborty, is expected to extend this emotion throughout the pandal. Every corner aims to make visitors experience warmth, nostalgia, and the feeling of belonging, rather than simply admire the decoration.
More Than a Theme
In recent years, Durga Puja themes have often focused on social issues, technology, or visual grandeur. Behala Notun Dal takes a different path by reminding us that the strongest bond is still the human bond.
“Ay Aaro Bendhe Bendhe Thaki” is an invitation to pause, reconnect with loved ones, and celebrate togetherness. It is a gentle reminder that the true spirit of Durga Puja lives not only in the artistry of the pandal but also in the relationships we carry with us.
