As the festive season approaches, Bengaluru’s Bengali community is preparing to embrace the spirit of Sharodiya Durga Puja with one of the city’s most anticipated cultural celebrations. The Begur Bengali Socio Cultural Trust has officially announced the return of its 5th-Year Durga Puja, set to take place from 16th to 21st October 2026 at Milana Greens, Mylasandra Road, Begur. What began as a community initiative has now evolved into one of Bengaluru’s most celebrated Durga Pujas, bringing together devotees, culture enthusiasts, families, and visitors from across the city.

More than just a religious festival, the six-day celebration promises an immersive cultural experience where tradition meets entertainment. Visitors can witness the timeless rituals of Durga Puja while enjoying an impressive lineup of music, art, food, shopping, and community festivities designed for people of all ages.

This year’s cultural evenings will be headlined by celebrated Bengali playback singer Rupankar Bagchi, whose soulful voice has captivated audiences across generations, and Ashmita Kar, who will perform live with the energetic Insync Band, delivering a vibrant mix of Bengali melodies, Bollywood favourites, and contemporary hits. Their performances are expected to be among the biggest attractions of the festival.

Adding a festive twist to the celebrations is the much-awaited Dandiya Night, where music, dance, and colourful attire will transform the venue into a lively celebration of togetherness. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore an exclusive Sonajhuri Mela, inspired by the iconic marketplace of Shantiniketan, featuring handcrafted textiles, artisan-made jewellery, home décor, handicrafts, and unique creations that celebrate India’s rich artistic heritage.

No Durga Puja is complete without food, and Begur’s celebration promises an irresistible culinary journey. From authentic Bengali festive delicacies to popular street-food favourites, alongside bustling flea markets and family-friendly attractions, the venue is set to become a vibrant hub where culture, cuisine, and community come together. Traditional rituals, children’s activities, cultural performances, and ample parking facilities further ensure a memorable experience for every visitor.

As Bengaluru’s Bengali community comes together to celebrate faith, heritage, and togetherness, the Begur Bengali Socio Cultural Trust continues its mission of preserving and promoting Bengali culture while creating a welcoming space for people from every background to experience the warmth of Sharodiya festivities.
